The standout of this set was the slanted blush brush (great for applying powder, but also excellent for buffing and smoothing foundation). The Balm is also a wonderful all-purpose item to have. Delicately scented, and great for lips, nails, rough elbows or to add a little shine or softness anywhere (also a really nifty stocking stuffer or "just because" gift).
This was my first time trying their shadows and I was thoroughly impressed. They go on easily and evenly, and stay put all day. "Gold Dust" was lovely, and "Champagne Citrine" really wowed me. It's a delicate dusting of pale shimmer…another great all-purpose item to have at the ready. The eye pencil was also very good. One of the nicest thin-edged pencils I've come across (I also appreciated the attached smudger).
The lip products were spectacular. The lip pencil went on smoothly (and I love that it has its own brush). And the lipstick…fab! I know I said I was cutting back on the red lipsticks, but this one deserves a spot in the lineup. It's called "Ruby," but it's really a sweet, delicious, festive cherry red. Perfect for a pretty cherry pout during the holidays.
The Universal Mineral Powder in Pink was my favorite item (and therefore gets it's own paragraph). Used as a blush, it gives a beautiful, natural glow. It gives the exact look of flushed cheeks coming in from the cold, or sitting by the fireplace. It also looked pretty as a shadow/highlighter.
This was my first chance to check out pürminerals; and overall, I was really impressed with the quality and versatility. I'd be thrilled to give (or receive) any of these items.
