Really bad surprise: Last Thursday, the police knocked on my door at 3:30am to let me know that someone had crashed into my dear little car (Bettie). No humans were hurt, but Bettie has been declared a total loss.

This has so many good things going for it, I don’t know where to begin. First, it has an SPF of 55 (broad spectrum helioplex – the only non zinc-oxide sunscreen my dermatologist recommends). The creamy formula goes on beautifully, and sets to a smooth, weightless finish. The coverage is sheer, buildable, and unbelievably natural. My skin looks flawless.
It also comes with its own applicator sponge, snaps securely shut and is going with me on my trip this weekend.

ifp Turns Two – Happy Blogiversary! 10(ish) Favorites from The Past Year
Well I really can’t believe it! Today marks two years since I began this blog. On April 1, 2009 I dove in with my first review:, and I’ve been having a great time ever since. I had no idea it would go so fast, and absolutely no idea how much fun it would be!
To celebrate another year of beauty junkie-dom, I’m going to feature ten of my favorites from the past twelve months. I wish I could list everything that wowed me this year, but I needed to whittle down the list – so I randomly decided on ten.
And of course…a big giant gorgeous THANK YOU to all of you who visit my site, and send me your comments, suggestions, stories (and off color jokes – you know who you are). Here’s to another pretty year!

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner: Liz Earle created a duo that is gentle, effective, and leaves hair looking and feeling like silk.
Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Creme: It works. Your feet will be soft, soft, soft. And they’ll also smell delicious. And since it’s organic, it’s perfectly fine if someone nibbles on your toes (did I say that out loud?).
So…um…I’m not officially including these next items; but they appeared on my Spring Things Review last week. If I had decided to feature “14 Favorites” these would be on it.

Sensible and Soothing: Skyn Iceland The Antidote Daily Lotion (review)
I can’t decide if I’m awake early or up late. At about 3:30 am this morning, the police knocked on my door to tell me that someone had hit my car (it’s parked out on the street). I called the insurance company and tried to go back to sleep, but quickly realized that sleep was not going to happen. So I did what any red-blooded, wired, sleep-deprived beauty junkie would do…I blogged!
And now I’m reviewing some fine soothing skincare. From Skyn Iceland
The Antidote Quenching Daily Lotion
Blurb: Lightweight daily moisturizing lotion to hydrate and cool stressed skin. Perfect for red and irritated, oily or acne-prone skin. Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids help preserve skin's natural moisture. Aloe vera, jojoba and shea butter help soothe, moisturize and heal dry skin. A mint derivative provides a cooling sensation and helps improve microcirculation to reduce redness in skin. White willow bark, a naturally occurring form of salicylic acid, soothes irritation and helps prevent breakouts and congestion in the skin. Icelandic kelp helps revitalize skin and fight inflammation. Meadow sweet extract helps control oiliness, tighten pores and clear skin. Yeast extract revitalizes and helps calm inflamed skin.
This is one of my go-to daytime moisturizers. It moisturizes and hydrates extremely well, and it really is soothing. When my complexion is particularly sensitive or stressed, it calms and quiets my skin. I especially love to take it with me when I’m traveling. Changing temperatures, humidity changes, and being tired or stressed (like…um…now) make this a lifesaver.
Skyn Iceland’s mottos is: Solutions for Stressed Skin. They can’t de-stress my brain, but I’ll take any de-stressing that comes my way today.

Double Seven’s co-owner Jeffrey Jah hosted a party for fashion magazine Muse Thursday, March 3 at the Royal Monceau Hotel in the City of Lights. The nightclub aficionado organized the fête for the magazine editor Fabio Covi and hair stylist Luigi Murenu to celebrate their 25th issue.
The runway’s top models were all in attendance including Isabeli Fontana, Natasha Poly and Joan Smalls. Runway star Rie Rasmussen and a gaggle of other catwalkers created quite the commotion when they began an impromptu topless photo shoot at the front door of the party.
Kanye West’s muse, Italian fashionista Anna Dello Russo’s got quite the shock when she stopped by to kick off Paris Fashion Week.

New findings have shown that water is one of the biggest contributors to fading hair color.
