Happy Autumn Appreciation Day: NEW Estée Lauder Sensuous Noir (review)

Before you start firing up the Google; I should tell you that there isn’t really an official Autumn Appreciation Day. I just made it up (so what else is new?). I’ve been going through the gloomy “Summer is Over” phase; and about 45 minutes ago, I suddenly got all happy that Autumn is here. Outside it’s dark and crisp, and I’m sitting in my snug apartment enjoying the coziness.

I’m thinking about Halloween costumes, hot cocoa, pretty leaves, cozy comforters, more hot cocoa, stockings and high heels, rich colors, hot baths before bed time, and…cocoa. Besides an excuse to enjoy chocolate in liquid form, Autumn is also a sensuous time. Nights are longer and darker, and the chilly air makes everyone want to get a little bit closer. How about we talk about a sensuous fragrance then? Here’s one from Estée Lauder.

Sensuous Noir Eau de Parfum Spray

Blurb: Sensuous after dark. The ultimate in sensuality. Feminine. Intensely rich. Mysteriously seductive. A deep heart of Molten Woods, Creme Noir and Patchouli, surrounded by rich florals including Spiced Lily, Purple Rose and other night-blooming florals. Like the soft seductive curves of a feminine silhouette, Estée Lauder Sensuous Noir embodies the warm, fluid sensuality of the woman who wears it.

This is a lovely fragrance for welcoming in the longer darker nights of Autumn. This fragrance is luxurious, soft, dark, sensual and feminine – with a nice bit of spice. The purple rose and jasmine are very prominent in the beginning, and are set off by a spicy whiff of black pepper. It’s a little bit intoxicating, and then it begins to warm up. The heady swirl settles down, and the darker, more earthy notes of the patchouli and melted woods start to come through. Finally the warm, creamy notes of the amber and vanilla and appear with more of the florals.

It’s really lovely. What I like most about this scent is the combination of femininity, mystery and earthiness.

You can read more details on the website. And you can check out what's new and visit the promotions page. Estée Lauder is also sold in fine department stores.

I’m going to keep the celebration going for another 6 minutes and 12 seconds with the help of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Have a listen…
