Je Me Sens Tres Jolie! YSL Fard À Lèvres Rouge Pur (review)

More fabulatiousness from Yves Saint Laurent today. I've been a fiend for lipsticks all summer (especially reds). And even after months of trying out gorgeous lipstick after gorgeous lipstick, YSL has still managed to completely wow me.

Fard À Lèvres Rouge Pur (Pure Lipstick)

Blurb: Lip colour and care in one, Rouge Pur stays fresh for hours while ensuring hydration and protection to the lips. Available in a sensational range of shades.

I am in freaky love with these - the blurb doesn't even come close to the goodness. Highly pigmented, creamy colors that glide on and feel absolutely weightless. And they look stunning – full coverage lipstick with a lovely sheen. They also last like you wouldn't believe - eating, drinking, talking, singing, whatever. And when the lipstick finally does rub off, there's still color left behind on the lips. I tried two:

Purple Velvet (#140): A juicy, lush purple with lots of red undertones. This is a departure from my usual cooler purples, and I love it. It's vibrant, but still sophisticated.

Opium Red (#131): I don't even know where to start with this color. This is the kind of drop-dead, gorgeous red that could only come from a French company. A warm, deep, velvety shade that flatters almost every skin tone. Sexy, voluptuous and decadent. Sigh!

There are over 40 colors to choose from and each comes in a beautiful, chic gold tube that will make you want to touch up at the table (of course you probably won't need to). YSL is available on their website, Sephora and fine department stores like Nordstrom and Saks.

Happy Friday!
