Eye Feel Stylish (and Thrifty): Stýli-Style Eye Pencils (review)

Ever since vowing to be more careful with my 2010 beauty spending; I have found tons of great values. There are many excellent products these days that have high-end quality at reasonable prices. I picked up a whole handful of these and was thrilled with every single one of them. The color went on smoothly, was highly saturated, and stayed put all day long. I especially loved using the Flat Eye Pencil. (I still can't figure out how that cool sharpener works – but it does.) What makes this a really fabulous brand is the huge array of colors to choose from. Great shades from subtle to edgy – all priced reasonably enough for lots of experimentation (I paid about $5 for each at CVS). All of the shades/formulas I tried worked well as both liners and shadows.

You know I don't need any kind of special month to yammer on about the importance of sun protection. But my obsession aside; you will be your prettiest and healthiest if you take care of and protect your largest organ (skin).

Today I happen to be glowing a bit. After a busy Monday; I went home, did a few household things, then spent the evening relaxing with a book and refreshing beverage. This morning I woke up all happy and rested, and felt like everyone was my new best friend.

Of course even the most relaxing of evenings can't add a glow to my pale arms and legs. Since I avoid the sun; I look shockingly pale the minute I start sporting bare-legged, bare-shouldered looks. I'm sure the rest of you are noticing something similar as you shed the sweaters and tights. Yes? Well it just so happens I came across a lovely item from per-fékt Beauty.

What finally sold me was the fact that it moisturized slightly, stayed put, and didn't rub off on my clothing. Ergo…my "glowing" review (I'm so very very sorry for that one, but I couldn't resist).

Accessory Porn for Monday: Scarves

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I did, and it's feeling really hard to get back to work today. I need a bit of fluff. Fluff and fabric and things that drape, tie and/or bind beautifully. I'm thinking…scarves.

A friend suggested I perk up my Monday outfit with a fun red scarf. So I did. And that got me thinking about how much I love the whole Springtime scarf thing. When it's not quite warm enough for summer bare-ness, a pretty scarf gives a bit of warmth and coverage. And they are endlessly versatile: you can wear them draped over a pair of jeans, layered over a skirt, as a halter, belt, skirt, etc. You can liven up a neutral outfit, and even hide hair gone…um…askew from April showers. And they're also just plain cute, pretty, lovely, feminine and flattering.

Today is another busy one, so I'll save my usual wordiness for another time. But even though things are a little bit frantic; my complexion is looking all smooth and serene. Thanks to a bit of cosmetic assistance from Sue Devitt Cosmetics.

Each of the Jo Malone iconic candle fragrances – Lime Basil & Mandarin, Wild Fig & Cassis, Blue Agava & Cacao Grapefruit, and Pomegranate Noir – have been matched with a classic Farrow & Ball Colour that is intrinsically linked to the unique inspiration behind each scent. The five limited edition Home Candles that compose this charming collection may be used singly or together to create an alluring aroma and colourful palette.
