One of the thoroughly awesome things about being an opera singer is getting to regularly visit my “dark side.” Sometimes my character is a wise, kindly person; but usually I run around swearing vengeance, plotting evil, seducing, poisoning and/or generally stirring up trouble. Since I (almost) never do any of these things in my regular life; it’s pretty amazing that I get to be really bad on stage. Right now, the character I’m preparing communes with the devil and predicts the future. How much does that rock?
It just so happens that pondering my dark side on a Saturday morning fits in ever so nicely with a review of fabulatious (probably not a word) body care from Giovanni Organic Cosmetics' D:Tox System™ Purifying Body Care line.

Okay, to begin with, the Wash, Bar and Scrub are all black and look really cool. Does that have anything to do with their effectiveness? No, but it’s cool. And they are effective. The Bar and Wash did a great job of cleaning and soothing. They had a delicate fig fragrance and felt amazing on my skin. I especially loved the Scrub. It warmed slightly when I rubbed it between my hands and on my skin. It wasn’t a “hard” scrub, but my skin felt pampered, soft, smooth and glowing after I finished. The Body Lotion is a perfect final step. It felt wonderful, absorbed quickly, hydrated extremely well and the softness lasted.
I loved using these products. They're full of nourishing ingredients, have a beautiful scent (from the fig and green tea), work well together, and made my skin feel great. And to satisfy my “light side,” Giovanni has pledged to donate a portion of its proceeds from the D:tox line to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Rad.
