For Dad’s Day: LUSH Dirty Collection - Body Spray, Springwash Shower Gel & Shaving Cream (review)

Many many things need to get done this week. You may know something about that. In addition to my regular goings on, there’s also Father’s Day business at hand. For those of you that are still wondering what to get the Dad (or Dads) in your life; here’s a nifty collection. From LUSH.

Dirty Body Spray

Blurb: Squirt our Dirty spray over your body, day or night, for portable deodorizing when you're on the move. Dirty spray is a deep and powerful freshener any time that you feel rushed off your feet; sandalwood helps to combat unwanted odours and that famous Dirty scent of tarragon, lavender and subtle spearmint will fool even the bloodhounds. Complete your layers with the deeper levels of Dirty. Get guys to ‘can' their aerosol body sprays and start using this freshly fragranced one instead. Plus it's made with real fragrance that will last a lot longer.

Dirty Springwash Shower Gel

Blurb: Like a dip in a mountain spring. After a dirty night on the tiles, jolt yourself back to reality with our tingly spearmint shower gel. Springwash is like a dip in a mountain spring, just in time for the weather getting warmer; spearmint and menthol crystals will make your skin feel cool in a hot shower and give it a sweeter scent than peppermint. Your bits will feel fresher in no time. Mo invented this refreshing and tingly shower gel, adding sodium bicarbonate to soften the water and deodorize the skin, making it absolutely perfect for 'Dirty' guys. There's also glycerine and sea salt in the recipe to soften the skin and hair as you're washing with it.

Dirty Shaving Cream

Blurb: Chin up! Slather, shave and soothe your face with a generous helping of Dirty shaving cream. Calming oat milk, shea butter and honey are great for calming irritations and red marks on sensitive chins. No one enjoys smooching when there's a hairy, scratchy beard face to contend with! Dirty boys should use this softening shaving cream to help the razor glide over the skin and leave their chins looking sharp. Scented with lavender and sandalwood, it's another layer to the Dirty fragrance blend. Not only should the men in your life being using Dirty shaving cream for a slick, fresh face, ladies can also enjoy the feeling of silky smooth, hair free skin on their legs and under their arms with a good dollop of this softening cream.

I love this line! I love to give beauty gifts, but generally the guys aren’t always as eager to “feel pretty.” This line pretty much satisfies everyone. The packaging is straightforward, modern, and has a “no frills” look while still remaining stylish and giftable.

And the products are excellent. Now I have to admit that I was the only one who tried the Shaving Cream. I kept it all for myself, and I loved the scent. I did have an actual guy try out the Body Spray and Shower Gel, though. He thoroughly loved both of them. The peppermint/sandalwood/tarragon combo is fresh and botanical without being girly. Not only did he enjoy the Body Spray, but I enjoyed it on him. We both gave the Shower Gel a try (he showered with it, and I used it as a bubble bath). It was heavenly and refreshing. The mint was more noticeable, and I felt incredibly clean and fresh afterwards.

The website has the entire collection, and there’s also very nice Get Dirty Gift set.

Sunday Edition: LUSH Retro Favorites

Check out the fab retro fab favorites that LUSH has brought back for the summer…

Ask [LUSH] And Ye Shall Receive...

Here at LUSH it’s all about innovation and keeping things fresh. This exciting modernization also means having to say goodbye to some products to make room for the new ones. But what about those loyal fans who can’t live without X, Y or Z and like to tell us so? Don’t worry we’ve got them covered with our Retro line of re-released discontinued products that are available exclusively online at
www.lushusa.com. Here are just a few of the fan favorites that are making resurgence in the LUSH line-up this summer:

In the Nude Bath Melt: Get in the nude this summer! This naked bath melt is small and discreet, yet it’s rich in moisturizing cocoa butter and scented with the divine combination of almond oil, lavender oil, rose absolute and chamomile oil.

Shave The Planet Shaving Cream: The antioxidants and vitamin-rich ingredients soothe and reduce redness while repairing and softening skin. Fair trade organic shea butter and cupuacu butter condition skin as the rose absolute and bamboo infusion soothe it. Vitamin-rich pumpkinseed and cold pressed rosehip oils make for a smooth shave and calm skin. LUSH’s 100% PCR packaging make sure that as you shave you save the planet.

Milky Bar Soap: This creamy, comforting soap smells like hot milk, which is nice to wash your body with just before going to bed. Milky Bar Soap is made with nourishing soya milk (so it's vegan!) and toning sweet orange and patchouli oils. Give a chunk to all the sweet people you know for glowing, touchable skin to slip into the sheets for a good night’s rest. (Vegan)

Smitten Hand Cream: LUSH customers asked very politely (but persistently) for a lighter, daytime hand cream scented with the same deliciously mouth-watering almond fragrance as our Snowcake soap. LUSH founder and product creator extraordinaire, Mark Constantine, created Smitten in response. Smitten is a fast-acting, deliciously scented, chamomile and coconut butter hand protector enriched with wheat germ to make your hands feel soft and luxurious while smelling like delicious almond frosting.

Get Dirty with LUSH!

For people who care about their appearance but can’t be bothered with too much paraphernalia in the mornings, the NEW “Dirty” collection is a no-nonsense fragrance that hits you with intensely crisp spearmint, thyme and tarragon, and the subtle smell of calm seas.

Dirty takes the common idea of ‘layering’ with beauty products a little bit further. Normally, grooming products will all have a different scent. However, this new concept of layering means you can shower in invigorating spearmint and thyme, shave with soothing lavender and sandalwood, and style hair with tarragon and oak moss. Once all of these products with their individual fragrances have been used, the combined scent will be that of Dirty, and can be topped off with the body spray, which contains all those main notes.

Dirty Spring Wash Shower: Don’t be a dirty rotten scoundrel. Recreate your very own mountain spring and wash with this tingly, softening, minty shower gel that contains spearmint, thyme, and sea salt.

Dirty Shaving Cream: Shave it all off using our ultra-softening oats and benzoin shaving cream. There’s also lavender and sandalwood in there to soothe any irritations.

Dirty Hair Gel: Refresh your coif with our conditioning and softening, firm hold styling product. Made with fair trade coconut oil, linseed gel and balm herb infusion for the perfect just-got-out-of bed style.

Dirty Body Spray: If you don’t have the time for a full-on Dirty routine in the morning, take a quickie instead and spritz yourself liberally with this body spray before you head out the door. No one will ever know.

Hair Care Friday…um…Saturday: LUSH Godiva Shampoo Bar & Retread Conditioner (review)

Sorry I'm a day behind – for some reason Google Blogger was down every time I wanted to post. It was kind of annoying, but pretty mild for Friday the 13th.

Anyway, I’m going to get right to it. I have some thoroughly fab haircare from the folks at LUSH.

Godiva Shampoo Bar

Blurb: Give your hair the moisturizing boost it needs with softening, conditioning butters. Your hair will be left so beautiful no one would notice you were riding the streets naked. It's a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner that's now completely vegan. It creates a richer feel to the lather when you wash your hair. Smoothing, shine inducing camellia oil makes hair manageable.

Retread Conditioner

Blurb: Triple strength conditioner for extra softness. As with so many LUSH products, Retread appears to resemble a cholesterol-laden pudding. It is scented with violets and oranges with a hint of sensual musk. Retread is a super-smoothing cream with seaweed, yoghurt, cantaloupe melon and jojoba oil to give seriously sad hair its shine back. Use it when your hair is feeling rough, harsh and wrecked. Retread will restore its sanity and get it under control.

In the interest of honest blogging, I need to disclose that I love LUSH. I love the whole bohemian vibe. And I especially love a big earth-friendly company that produces quality handmade products in small batches. But even if you didn’t know about the whole bohemian, earth-friendly, handmade thing; once you set foot in a LUSH store, you’d be in love too. Everything I’ve ever tried has been a pampering, yummy and/or thoroughly sensual experience. Including these two items.

First…the Shampoo Bar. It smells incredible. Really. I’m used to things from LUSH smelling great, but this was an amazing scent. When I washed my hair at the gym, I overheard someone else remark on the great smell. This happened twice in about 15 minutes. It also cleaned my hair well with a nice conditioning lather, but I barely noticed. I was swooning over the fragrance.

The conditioner has a much less pronounced fragrance (and it’s kind of unusual); but it may be my curls’ new best friend. It’s sulfate free, so it had relatively little slip when I applied it (it detangled well, though). And after I rinsed and dried my hair, it was noticeably softer and my curls sprang to life. There was a definite lack of frizz, yet my hair had more volume. I’ve never come across a conditioner like this, and it’s absolutely awesome!

Right now, I’m eyeing the Flying Fox Shower Gel, so I’m planning to wander over to a LUSH store and check it out as soon as I get the chance. If you don’t live near a LUSH store, check out the website. See what’s new, then sign up to receive a catalogue. And don’t leave before visiting the Retro section (a selection of specially recreated products from LUSH’s past).

And since we’re being all bohemian and happy, here’s an extra treat for your weekend. Enjoy this brilliant little spoof!

Tuesday Treats: Have a LUSH Easter

LUSH continues to thoroughly rock - how adorable are these Easter bath bombs (and bunny wrap)?

Easter goodies from LUSH!

Peter Cottontail is around the corner, so instead of giving family and friends over-packaged, calorie-filled chocolate eggs this year, treat them to a tasty selection of LUSH’s new bath products. Much kinder to the waistline and the environment, LUSH’s bath bombs are solid which means they are preservative and packaging free. LUSH also doesn’t test on the Easter Bunny (or any other animals for that matter) – we just use them as inspiration!

Donkey Oaty Bath Bomb: A cute little Donkey shaped bath bomb that is scented with the fragrance of ylang ylang and geranium oil.

Hippy Chick Bath Bomb: Fragranced with our citrusy Happy Hippy shower gel, this little chick will frolic around your tub leaving you refreshed and ready to hunt for those Easter eggs.

Candy Fluff Egg Bath Bomb: Bathe in a mass of marshmallow, candy floss and jelly bean scented bubbles. You’ll get your sugar fix without anything passing your lips!

Happy Easter Gift: This gift is a hollow egg, made up of two halves of bath bomb mix – one half uses the sweet Candy Fluff mix, the other is the uplifting Avobath mix. Inside this giant egg, waiting to hatch, is a little Hippy Chick bath bomb. This fantastic Easter gift is wrapped with a beautiful Knot-Wrap scarf.

Bunny Knot Wrap: The Lush Knot Wraps are an environmentally friendly alternative to gift wrap. Choose this adorable Bunny version to wrap up all your Easter LUSH goodies!

Friday Fabulousness: Help LUSH Help The Relief Effort In Japan

Read about the limited edition products LUSH is launching. 100% of the proceeds will be going to various Japanese charities. The products will be hitting North American stores on Monday (April 18), and will also be available at www.lushusa.com.

LUSH lends a helping hand to Japan

As you know, the disaster in Japan is far from over. The catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan hit very close to home for LUSH Cosmetics. With 1600 staff members, 145 shops, and a manufacturing facility located in Japan, LUSH had to step in and support local organizations. These groups are working to rebuild affected areas and support Japanese citizens, some of whom are members of the LUSH family.

To aid in the relief effort, LUSH is selling limited edition products with 100% of the proceeds going to various Japanese charities.

The Rising Sun soap ($5.95) resembles the Japanese flag and softens the skin with a sweet cherry fragrance. All proceeds from the soap will go directly to Peace Boat, a Japan-based non-profit organization. Since the earthquake, Peace Boat has been organizing volunteers, transporting aid and providing hot meals to those affected by the disaster.

LUSH has also launched three limited edition Charity Pots ($5.00/each). This rich body lotion is made with Fair Trade organic cocoa butter with a hint of ylang ylang and geranium. 100% of the sale of each Charity Pot will be donated to three Japanese humanitarian and animal welfare organizations:

- Rescue Stock Yard – a Japanese domestic disaster non-profit that has started emergency relief and preparation for long-term support for thousands of survivors.

- NGO Collaboration Centre for HANSHIN QUAKE Rehabilitation – members of this center have been in the Miyagi Prefecture providing support for the victims.

- Animal Peace – a grassroots animal welfare group that has been providing medical care, food and blankets for displaced animals.

Holiday Radness from LUSH: Sexy Boy, Satsumo Santa, and Santa’s Rice Porridge (review)

Holiday? Oh yeah, LUSH has your holiday right here! I just finished checking out three of the zillions of items they are offering right now: A gingerbread boy massage bar, a Santa bath bomb and the funnest face mask ever (made with cranberries).

Sexy Boy Massage Bar

Blurb: This little man melts onto your body with moisturizing cocoa and shea butters and extra virgin coconut oil to give your skin a glow (he tends to leads to other things that leave you glowing too). He smells of warming chocolate and envigorating lime oil to put you in the mood for romance. Although he may not look sexy (he is a gingerbread man after all), give him a chance by rubbing him onto your partner and he'll bring sexy to your back.

I absolutely had to try this! I love LUSH massage bars and this one is right up there with the best of them. If you actually have a sexy boy to try this out on, all the better. Both of you will appreciate the very subtle chocolate fragrance. It’s sensuous without being perfumey. And the oils and butters leave skin, soft, soft, soft!

Satsumo Santa Bath Bomb

Blurb: Last year Simon Constantine (co-head-perfumer) created the gorgeous scent for our decadent Chocolate Santa. This year, Santa's back and he's SUMO sized! Simon created a new lovely and refreshing citrus fruit blend with manadarin oil, bergamot oil and orange blossom absolute. When the holiday season has gotten you all stressed out and tired, grab a Satsumo Santa and drop him into the tub with you. The smile-inducing orange flower scents will rise up from the water to lift your seasonal spirits and get you excited to finish up with the rest of your holiday chores.

I am so stoked (dude) that LUSH has combined holiday and citrus! The bomb is, well…da bomb. And it’s shaped like a very round little Sumo-Santa. This is such an adorable bath bomb. It fizzed and then turned the water a pretty, girly pink color that gave off a very faint tangerine/bergamot fragrance. And the moisturizing agents softened my skin and kept it soft all day long.

Santa's Rice Porridge Fresh Face Mask

Blurb: Fruity nutrition for your face, reviving tired, stressed skin on the run up to Christmas Day. Look your best with a bowl of Santa's Rice Porridge. He won't mind, honestly.

This is basically a clay mask with tons of additional nourishing and softening ingredients. (And I should point out that even though it’s a clay mask, it’s extremely rich - keep this in mind if you have oily or breakout-prone skin). That said, this mask is massively fun to use. It’s like being a little kid. After it’s been chilled, it’s a fabulous, grainy, clumpy oatmeal-like texture (with cranberries too!). I spread it all over my face and laughed for almost the whole 10 minutes that I left it on. I stopped laughing after I rinsed though. I believe I said something like, “ooooh.” My skin was super soft and glowing.

These are all amazing gifts and stocking stuffers. (And each is under $10!) Check out the website for more gift/get ideas (I suggest you push the Christmas button). You can also sign up to receive the LUSH Times Catalogue while you’re there.

Happy Weekend!

Upcoming Saturday Fun from the folks at LUSH

You never really need a reason to visit LUSH; but here's a reason to visit the Santa Monica store at a specific time (namely, this Saturday between the hours of 1-3pm). Start reading…

Strike a Pose with True Blood’s Kristin Bauer at LUSH Cosmetics

Images Benefit the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s Tails for Whales Campaign

Sat., Nov. 7, 2009; 1-3pm PST

Lend a hand (or two!) to save the whales with True Blood’s Kristin Bauer (HBO’s True Blood). Kristin will be at LUSH Cosmetics in Santa Monica to sign autographs, pose for pictures and educate the public about IFAW’s Tails for Whales Campaign.

Store visitors will have the opportunity to visit with Kristin and pose for their own whale tail photo. The first 100 people who RSVP to tailsforwhales@lush.com will receive a free ocean inspired Big Blue Bath Bomb, courtesy of LUSH. Additionally, a bag of Whale Tail chips will be given to all shoppers who submit their photo for the campaign during this time.

Whales and their habitats face many threats including commercial whaling, ship strikes, entanglement in fishing gear, ocean noise and climate change. In order to protect whales, IFAW has launched Tails for Whales, a grassroots initiative calling for stronger whale protection and is asking the public to contribute photos to illustrate support for whales. The collection of photographs includes celebrities, public figures and everyday individuals making whale tails with their hands. Kristin Bauer, Goran Visnjic, Amber Valletta, Joely Fisher, Cullen Jones, Ben Stein and Dylan Walsh are among the familiar faces who have already struck a pose for the campaign. Photos can be viewed or uploaded at www.ifaw.org/tailsforwhales.

Beer and Sympathy: Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo from LUSH (review)

Did you notice anything about Saturday’s post? If you were looking closely, you may have noticed that it wasn't there. (Okay, take a minute and look.) Why? Well because I typed my review and then forgot to publish it. And then I didn’t even remember to check until last night.

Duh.

But then that’s kind of how my whole weekend went. Things basically just went awry. Plans got changed, there was miscommunication, scheduling problems arose. I was late to stuff. Other people were late to stuff. I even left my phone somewhere and had to spend an extra 90 minutes in the car to retrieve it. Now the weekend wasn’t a total loss. I did manage to have some amazing fun, but I only accomplished a teeny fraction of what needed to get done.

For instance, today I’m supposed to be at an audition. Am I at the audition? No I am not. My cold is still hanging on a tiny bit so I called last night to cancel. More plans gone awry. So what on earth does a girl do when there’s nothing to be done?

Beer.

And since I've decided to be all health conscious this week, I’m going to recommend beer in shampoo form. And don't I just happen to know of an awesome product from LUSH? (The answer to that rhetorical question is "yes.")

Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo

Blurb: Last call with a lemon drop to give hair tons of volume and shine. If you have fine or frizzy hair, make friends with Cynthia. This shampoo's special recipe includes organic Irish stout and lemons. The stout adds weight to hair and smooths cuticles, while lemons give amazing shine. As a bonus, your hair will smell delicious all day, but please refrain from drinking your shampoo if you shower at night.

I couldn't drown my sorrows by drinking; but I sure cheered up when I saw how good my hair looked. This is a great shampoo for perking up dull winter hair. My hair was soft and fluffy (without being frizzy or fuzzy), and there was lots of extra shine. The fragrance is also perked up my mood – a nice subtle yummy lemony scent.

Another way to deal with plans gone awry is to take a moment and feel deep gratitude for all that has gone right in my life. And to pass on some of my good fortune or remind myself of the good things being done in the world. In yet another segue way, I'll point out that LUSH's Charity Pot Programme donates 100% of the retail price (minus taxes) of their Charity Pot hand and body cream to worthy causes.

Cheers and Happy Monday!

Fall Comfort: Figs and Leaves Soap from LUSH

Hey all. Still wheezing a bit, but I'm on the mend. I keep falling asleep, though. So before I doze off again, I want to talk about my new delightful bar from LUSH. I've been in need of some comfort, and found some in…

Figs and Leaves Soap

Blurb: Earthy orange garden smoothes skin and leaves it supple. Ashy or scaly skin? Nevermore with Figs and Leaves handmade soap. Tiny fig seeds brimming with nutrition and gentle exfoliation yield to a creamy, aloe vera conditioning lather and a bouquet of fresh garden aromas. The scent of oranges and earthy ylang ylang linger on your silky, smooth skin as a tempting reminder of sweet cleanliness.

To begin with, this one of those absolutely perfect scents for fall. It's infused with fig; and the fragrance is warm, rich, sweet and slightly spicy without being perfumy. And now that the weather is turning cold and dry, you will love the way this bar moisturizes. The essential oils and skin softeners in the bar are like comfort food for your whole body. And the little fig seeds give just enough scrubbiness to coax away rough skin. My skin felt clean, smooth and very very soft.

I have another yummy fall LUSH product to write about soon (for hair); but in the meantime, take a look at the fabulous website (or visit one of their stores). In addition to the great fall stuff, you can also check out some of the cool limited edition Halloween products. There are also the newest Holiday items (hint, hint) as well as awesome retro holiday items.

More Friday Fabness for Fall …from LUSH

Okay, LUSH has once again come up with spectacular items to herald the change of seasons. Featuring inagredients like BEER, henna and figs.

And beer.

Read (the product with beer is first)…

Fresh for Fall

Looking for new and fresh ways to fall into the harvest season? With the changing climate, LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics has just what you need to prepare your skin and hair for the nippy fall months ahead.

Munich’s Oktoberfest (the unofficial kick-off to the fall and a celebration of all things beer) is one of the most famous events in the world with over 6 million in attendance each year. If you’re stuck in the states, you can bring the beer stein to your bathroom with Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo, made with fresh-brewed Irish Stout to add weight to fluffy hair and smooth down hair cuticles to give locks a mirror-like shine.

While the leaves are turning to vibrant new colors, why not color your hair to match? Go brown, auburn, red or black with LUSH’s Caca Henna Hair Dyes. Each 100% natural henna hair dye glazes hair with a coat of lustrous, glossy color that will last you until winter.

Don’t forget about your skin’s needs – moisture is key to keeping your skin supple in the cold weather. Try Figs and Leaves Soap which feels more like a moisturizer than a soap. Infused with fresh fig fruits, earthy ylang ylang, nourishing aloe vera and scrubbing fig seeds, your skin will be in prime shape to slip into (or out of) your favorite cozy sweater by the fireside.

Wash Up: 13 Soap Unlucky for Dirt from LUSH

It is now officially after Labor Day. Time to put away your white shoes (especially if you’re a man) and start thinking about the fall. Fall makeup, fall scents, fall colors…and time to start getting back in the habit of taking good health precautions as flu season approaches (of course, I’m positive none of you lovely readers have even fallen out of the habit…this is for your “friends”).

And I’ll be darned if the folks at LUSH haven’t managed to turn something as tedious as hand washing and flu prevention into a lovely pampering experience. Their new soap contains fabulous antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-everything-bad oregano oil. Once again, LUSH, you rock. Please read the info I got (all of it – not just the fun parts)…

Handwashing 101: bar vs. liquid soap

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), washing hands is the single most important act to help stop the spread of disease and stay healthy. That’s because, 80% of all infections may be transmitted through our hands. In an interview today about an inevitable influx of swine cases this fall, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said that, “the best thing we can all do are the very simple things, the washing of the hands, the coughing into the sleeve.” With flu scares increasing and kids heading back to school, the greatest way to fight disease is to go back to basics.

An ancient remedy for fighting disease, oregano oil is a naturally powerful antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic and has been proven to break down “super bugs.” In 2004, Georgetown University released a report that it destroys antibiotic-resistant super germs such as the MRSA virus, which kills at least 12,000/year, mostly hospital staff. Do what nurses do and find a soap that uses oregano oil, such as LUSH Cosmetics’ new 13 Soap Unlucky for Dirt, for its natural, helpful properties.

Bar soap is more hygienic than liquid because it does not contain water, which is a breeding ground for bacteria. Bar soap naturally fights off bacteria as opposed to liquid soap that has to be contained in environmentally damaging plastic bottles.

The act of washing hands is essential because according to the CDC, an estimated 40 million adults get sick from germs transmitted on dirty hands (yuck!). It is vital to wash hands for at least 20 seconds (sing Happy Birthday twice), but it is just as important to use a bar of soap. A bar of soap physically removes bacteria and other germs off skin and hands.

If you follow these basic tips and the others lectured by your mother, such as “Keep your hands out of your mouth,” “Stop rubbing your eyes” and “Don’t touch that” you should be safe and healthy this cold and flu season.

Read This: Great News For Our Planet from LUSH

More reasons to be a fan of LUSH. Not only are their products unique and amazing; but so is their commitment to the health of people, animals and the environment. Please read and be inspired…

Wash your hands of palm and give back to the rainforest

LUSH Cosmetics is giving back and cutting back in an effort to save the Indonesian rainforest as well as the animals and people who live there. As part of its global public awareness campaign on palm oil and the devastation caused by its production, LUSH is launching two new products that give back to two new charities that work to save the animals and indigenous tribes of the rainforest.

All of the sales from LUSH’s limited edition Jungle Soap ($5.95, launching August 7th) will go to the Rainforest Foundation, which works with tribes to protect their forest homes from the destructive expansion of palm oil plantations in the region.

At the same time, LUSH is excited to announce a new Charity Pot partnership with The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). The WSPA works with the Borneo Orangutan Society (BOS) to protect endangered orangutans threatened by the deforestation practices of the palm oil industry. As LUSH’s featured Charity Pot partner for the duration of the palm campaign, WSPA will be receiving proceeds generated from the sales of the Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion (receiving every penny of the $20.95 retail price, excluding taxes).

LUSH’s efforts don’t stop at giving back; we are also cutting back, on our palm use that is! LUSH has worked tirelessly for the past three years to develop a soap base that does not contain palm oil. Today, we are proud to announce that all LUSH soaps are now made with this palm-free base. Given that LUSH is the first cosmetics company to take these steps and is incredibly passionate about this issue, we are encouraging other soap companies to reformulate their products without palm. With three years of experimenting with various replacement oils, we are willing to share our expertise with other companies looking to reduce or eliminate their use of palm as well.

Consumers can reduce their palm use by switching to LUSH’s reduced palm soaps. To make this exploration a little more adventurous, LUSH is introducing the limited edition Soap Wall ($19.95), a sampling of LUSH’s 9 top-selling soaps made with our new palm FREE soap base. So you can be have some fun as you ‘wash your hands of palm’ and help keep our rainforests LUSH.
