Spring Continues (And So Does the Cleaning): Erno Laszlo Beta Mask (review)

I’ve spent most of the evening cleaning and organizing. And I’ve spent most of that time organizing my cosmetics. But I do plan on getting to the other parts of my apartment. Really. I do. But right now it’s time for a blogging break. I just tried an awesome mask from Erno Laszlo.

Beta Mask

Blurb: Blemish treatment for normal to oily skin. This targeted treatment is a multi-faced approach to combating acne. It contains one percent salicylic acid for mild exfoliation, willow bark extract to reduce sebum secretion and kaolin to absorb excess shine. I thoroughly loved this mask! It’s easy to apply, feels wonderful while it’s on, and rinses easily. The willow bark/kaolin combination is fabulous. It removed all of the oil and impurities; and my face was refreshed and super clean. My pores looked smaller, there was no irritation; and my skin felt smooth and refreshed.

I Surrender (Again)! Erno Lazslo Gentle Body Exfoliator and Total Face & Body Protection (review)

Almost a year ago, I had an amazing lightbulb moment. August can be a chaotic time, and 2009 was no exception. One Sunday, I realized that my best strategy was to just let go of everything I "should" be doing and surrender. So I waved the white flag and took myself away from it all for a day. The Exfoliator does exactly what it says (I love when that happens). It's a lovely skin polisher that feels wonderful as it gently exfoliates without scratching. It's gentle enough for the most sensitive skin, yet still works very well. The gel formula rinsed away easily and left my skin soft and silky. The Face & Body Protection is one of the most moisturizing and soothing sun protection products I've tried. It glided on like a luxurious body cream, and immediately soothed and hydrated. It also absorbed quickly and kept my skin hydrated all day (of course you should still reapply sunscreen throughout the day). Both products also had light, fresh (unisex) fragrances.

Straight Up Thursday: Erno Laszlo BLUE Firmarine Treatment Bar (review)

Is it just me, or does it seem like Easter Sunday was about 5 years ago? Maybe it’s the weather or all the time off; but this week seems to have stretched on for-freakin-ever.

Just felt the need to share.

And now back to beauty business. I think my brain cells are melting in the heat because I seem to be at a loss for corny tie-ins. You’d think with words like “dish” and “bar” at my disposal, I could come up with something truly groan-worthy. But I can’t. You’ll just have to read a plain old straight up review today. Today’s straight up item is from Erno Laszlo.

So I guess it’s good that I’m talking about a “smart soap” on a day when I’m feeling less than brainy. While I don’t think this soap is clever enough to balance your checkbook or pay your taxes; I do think that it's a pretty smart idea.

For one thing, I love the whole bar thing. I like the feel of it, I like that there’s less packaging, and I absolutely love it for travel (just cut off a piece and pack it up – it won't count as a liquid).

This cleanser is actually for skin that is dry to slightly oily; but my combination skin responded very well. I haven’t used it long enough to judge the long term effects; but I found that it did an excellent job of thoroughly cleansing my face, and leaving my skin clean, fresh and balanced. The scent is very nice too (fresh – neither masculine nor feminine).

Post Holiday Plumpness: Erno Laszlo TranspHuse Lip PHixative (review)

I'm briefly interrupting your Cyber Monday to talk about the good kind of post-holiday plumpness. Maybe if I write about the "good" kind; I can stop feeling guilty about the possible "bad" kind of plumpness that may or may not be a result of too much…um…thankfulness last Thursday.

I felt some tingling, but there was no dry or tight feeling at all! The overall effect was of fuller, softer lips. (Have to say, I also loved the rollerball packaging…very convenient).

Just in case you’ve never visited ifp before; things have been a little chaotic lately. And being a bit of a control freak makes me forget that sometimes the best strategy is to take a big fat break from all the planning and juggling. Thanks to an extremely helpful email; I realized that what I really needed was to wave the little white flag, let go of some control and give over to the moment. So I took myself, a cute outfit, and a good book down to the local Barnes & Noble and ended up enjoying several extremely pleasant hours. I came home completely happy and rejuvenated – and have promised myself to make time for more of the same.

After I got home, I finished what I’d started and treated myself to some extra pampering: A nice cup of tea, some TV and favorite Bath & Body products. So glad I did. And so glad I decided to try out my sample of Hydra-Therapy Bodyskin Cream from Erno Laszlo. (Whoa…did I just finesse that segue way right in there or what? Oh yeah, I am smoooth…)

I still have to find a car, still have a pile of music to practice, still have to find a new agent, find new church gig and do my laundry and/or vacuum. But today it actually feels doable. And even though I don’t know exactly when my next little “surrender time” will happen; I can definitely do some small things here and there to keep everything in balance.
