It is freakishly hot this week. Again. Last night I slept on the sofa (again!); and I’m pretty sure I’ll be sleeping there every night this week.

What a perfect time to review this product. From CLEAN.

Normally I would say “run, don’t walk” and pick up one of these – but since it’s several million degrees outside, walking is probably the wiser choice.

First…Omigod it smells good! I mean really, really good. And not overpowering – just...good. If you’re looking for an aluminum-free product, this is a stellar item. It contolled wetness really well, and also kept odor at bay. I probably wouldn’t run a marathon in this; but on a hot day with a lot of errands, it did the job. It was also completely non-irritating (a huge plus for me), and it didn’t leave any white residue.

And did I mention it smells really good?

Wednesday Appreciation Day: CLEAN Cotton T-Shirt Eau de Parfum (review)

Why am I appreciating Wednesday? Mainly because I was in a thoroughly excellent mood all day. It started out wonderfully, and stayed that way. And even though it was busy, I still kept finding myself smiling and appreciating little things all day long. So since I’m being all appreciative, I thought I’d feature a scent that also put me in a good mood. From CLEAN.

Cotton T-Shirt Eau de Parfum

This is a huge departure from fragrances I usually wear; but I have to admit I could seriously get used to it. When I was a teenager in Southern California, we used to buy Jockey men’s v-neck tee’s (3 for $10) to wear with our jeans during the summer. This scent reminded me a little bit of those days. It really smells like freshly washed cotton, sunshine, ease and…happiness. And thinking about wearing a guy's freshly washed cotton shirt is a mighty good thing too.

The bergamot and cotton flower are most prominent at the beginning; and as it dries down, the warmer notes of rosewood and musk come through. It’s light, crisp, clean, kind of sexy and comforting all at the same time. (Awww.) And it’s a wonderful daytime fragrance for spring or summer.

First, I waited an extra day between washings (it nearly killed me). I put some on my hands (not too much!!), flipped my hair over and worked it through my roots and scalp. Then I flipped my hair back and distributed the Shampoo down to the tips. I was so happily surprised! My hair smelled fresh and clean, and the Shampoo cut down the oiliness that had built up. My hair was ready to go in about 2 minutes!

In addition to morning emergencies; this would be an awesome product to have in your bag on hot and/or muggy days when you have to go from afternoon to evening and don't have time to go home and freshen up. Love, love love this!

Post Birthday Pampering: CLEAN 4 Piece Essential Collection (review)

Well the birthday train has finally left the station (mostly). The festivities are done (mostly), and it's time to start another year. Tonight I'm going home and doing a whole bunch of cleaning because my Mom is arriving on the weekend. This is my only night to clean, and it's also my only night to stay home and enjoy a bit of R&R. So once the dust bunnies have been taken care of, this post-birthday girl is spending time with a lovely set of items from CLEAN.

The Bath and Shower Gel was gentle and refreshing. The light foam cleaned and softened with a light, soothing fragrance. The Body Lotion (same lovely fragrance) absorbed quickly and made my skin feel even softer. The scent is very light, so you can still follow up with your favorite perfume.

I especially loved the Fresh Body Veil. I was a little skeptical when I read the words "time release," but even though it's feather light, it held up for hours. It's silky smooth, and I felt fresh and dry well into the afternoon. The Dry Shampoo is the first dry shampoo I've ever tried. I'm planning to share the details on one of my Hair Care Fridays; but I was really impressed.

I Have Returned! CLEAN Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Cream (review)

Hello everyone. Sorry I couldn't write a review yesterday – it was just too crazy. The thunderstorm finally hit (in a big way), but I managed to get everything done that I needed to do outside. I wish I could say I was all done…but I can't. I still have a ton of cleaning and organizing to do tonight – but then I'm finished. For a while at least. (For some reason my dishes refuse to wash themselves.)

Speaking of cleaning, I can't help but think that a cheesy tie-in is long overdue. So today's lovely (and extremely useful) beauty item is from the folks at CLEAN.

Since this company is known for its wonderful bath, body and home fragrances; I find it slightly funny that the first product I've ever reviewed from them is unscented. But there you have it! Instead of pretty smells, you get a really fine cream that does double duty by killing germs while moisturizing.

I decided to try it for an entire day. Usually when I use an antibacterial throughout the day, my hands are pretty cranky by evening. This was different. I washed my hands, patted them dry and applied the cream. It felt moisturizing and soothing, then dried to a very light coating. There was no stickiness or greasiness; and my hands felt protected for hours. Every four hours, I washed my hands and reapplied. At the end of the day, my hands were baby smooth - no roughness or dryness at all! Awesome!

I'm keeping the tube in my bag now. A good antibacterial is especially necessary in the warmer months (when we're more likely to come in contact with the "ick" factor). This cream would also make a great addition to your travel stash. It comes in a small one-ounce tube and is perfect for all those travel places with lots of "surfaces."
