Your Thursday Face: FACE Stockholm Mineral Powder Foundation with SPF15 (review)

This Thursday night, I’m being Little Miss Multitasker. While testing out one product (stellar so far btw); I’m writing about another one.

And the one I happen to be writing about is from one of my favorite companies: FACE Stockholm.

Mineral Powder Foundation (SPF15)

I’ve had a beauty crush on this brand ever since I started visiting their store at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. Just browsing all of the little treats is a lovely pampering experience. And their products are soooooo nice.

This foundation is no exception. I couldn't wait to try it and I was not disappointed. I used it every which way and was thrilled every time. As a translucent finishing powder, it's wonderful. I used a brush and got a lovely, sheer finish that set my makeup perfectly.

I also tried it as a foundation and loved the results. I got great coverage with a sponge...and even better application and coverage with a puff (I happened to have one laying around). When I used it as a foundation, I got sheer/medium coverage. I also got excellent (really excellent!) pore minimization, and my skin tone looked almost perfectly even. The finish is matte, but still leaves a bit of natural-looking glow. I got a very polished, yet fresh look (and SPF to boot)!

About Face: FACE Stockholm Mineral Foundation (review)

Yesterday started out peacefully and got progressively crazier. By evening I was completely overwhelmed. Conversely, this morning was frantic and tense, then started mellowing out. Now I’m home from the gym, completely relaxed and ready to go to class later. Balance (Grasshopper).

Of course I am a teensy bit late with my review. But hey…it’s all good. And our Thursday face product is from FACE Stockholm.

Mineral Foundation

This is the very first mineral foundation I’ve ever liked! I gave it a quick try when visiting a FACE store in New York last month; and I liked it so much that I decided to order a jar and give it a proper trial. I’m so glad. This foundation is just as awesome as I remember.

The coverage is sheer and somewhat buildable. It feels weightless and looks gorgeous. It does a great job of evening out the skin tone (even in places where I get a little red), and the finish is natural, fresh and slightly glowy (but not shiny). It wears pretty well, and even has a bit of sun protection. It’s also non-comedogenic and paraben-free. I love wearing it; and right now it has taken up residence in my bag (it’s absolutely perfect for touch ups)!

The Colors! The Colors! FACE Stockholm Pot Glosses (review)

I've already missed a day, so let's get to it – I've been chomping at the bit to write this review ever since I got back from my shopping/movie/girl-talk trip to New York. Every single time my friend (Kristi) and I go to the Time Warner Center, I have to stop at FACE Stockholm and ogle all of the amazing treats. This time I finally treated myself to two gorgeous glosses.

Pot Gloss

First, a giant thanks to the saleswoman who let us try on almost everything and answered all of our questions. FACE Stockholm stores are lovely boutiques with yummy, pretty things just stewn about like jewels. Everything is simple, elegant and very very chic.

What I love about these glosses are the colors. I couldn't believe how many new, exciting shades were laid out in front of me. Kristi and I were like kids in a candy store. FACE has some of the most amazing pigments - shades you probably can't find anywhere else. I picked up "Amusing" (a sparkly lavender) and "Impulsive" (a sheer, sexy gold). Neither of these colors are my "usual." I never would have thought I could wear a lavender gloss, but this looks amazing on me. And "Impulsive" looked almost like a pumpkin color in the pot; but became a hot, tawny gold on my lips. FACE glosses are highly pigmented, yet very sheer – which makes the edgy colors wearable and flattering.

The colors are what called to me, but the formula is excellent. The glosses are super shiny, moisturizing (no stickiness), and wear surprisingly well. I applied mine before 9am, and it was still there at 11:30.

I also played with one of their Mineral foundations while I was in the store, then ordered one when I got home, so I'll be writing a review when after arrives. (By the way, when I ordered, their customer service was awesome.)

Check out the website. There are a total of 36 colors (and that's just the glosses). They also carry a huge array of lipsticks, liners, treatments, tube glosses, shadows and (god help me) eyeliners. The Magic section is also pretty cool too. However, nothing beats a trip to one of the stores. If you're near one, get on over there and get yourself something pretty!
