Waking Up My Monday: Pixi Week of Wakeup Makeup Palette (review)

Oy. To the vey. This day began very well, and quickly slid downhill. I ended up coming home from work with a bad headache, and an even worse attitude. Thank goodness for my cozy home…and science. Cozy home for my attitude, and modern pharmaceuticals for my headache.

And to help get myself back to my happy place, I’m going to talk about a whole big weekful of beauty. From Pixi.

Week of Wakeup Makeup

Blurb: Deluxe kit decked out with gorgeous shades of peaches, pinks and nudes – specifically designed with a complete & coordinated look for each day of the week. Stuck in a makeup rut? This kit is your makeup wakeup call. We have combined our foolproof rise and shine essentials with a few fresh additions to create a seven-days-a-week go-to kit. Now it’s easy to be fresh-faced & focused on a Monday, free-flowing & fabulous on a Friday and soft & subtle on a Sunday! A whole week of awakening makeup solutions, all in one organized kit – no need to be bored with your makeup anymore!

Pixi, you continue to rock - beauty junkies live for this kind of thing! This palette has 21 shadows, 7 cheek colors and 8 glosses. And as you can see they’re all laid out to suggest a look/color palette for each day of the week (my favorite is Friday – no surprise there). I am smitten!

The quality is excellent. The blushes are finely milled, very natural-looking and easy to blend. The glosses have great texture and are nicely pigmented. The shadows were my favorites. The quality is wonderful, the colors are lovely, they have good staying power, and a few of the darker shades (in “Wed/Thurs/Fri”) worked very well as liners when applied with a wet brush. The colors lean mainly toward softer/neutral shades. There are a few pops of boldness in the shadows – and there's promise of a smokey eye on Thursday night.

It goes without saying that this palette is perfect for travel. It closes securely to a very tidy, portable 5" x 6.5" secure little package that easily tucks into a purse, backpack, or even a briefcase. (If you do take it traveling, remember to keep the plastic film on that covers each section.) And even if it never leaves home, the variety and versatility make this an awesome “go to” kit.

Head on over to the website for a closer look. Right now they have some really nifty web exclusives, and you can get 20% off of your order (use code: TWENTYOFF). And if you want a super close look, you can find Pixi at Target.

Hey, I’m kinda cheered up now. :)
