Winter Hotness: Victoria's Secret Daily Glow Moisturizer and Lip Gloss

One of my New Year's "ideas" (I don't make resolutions) was to do something a little more different a little more often. Nothing big, just the occasional detour from the usual to enrich my perspective. Another "idea" I had was to make some kind of order out of the landslide of beauty and skincare products that is threatening to take over my apartment. This includes trying out some of the items that I already have before bringing in new ones. Today we are combining two "ideas" with the help of Victoria's Secret.

Daily Glow Moisturizer (on SALE!)

I picked these two items for a few reasons. Number one is that I just plain love the whole VS vibe. Somehow any product from them just feels extra hot and sexy. Maybe it's all the cute lingerie you have to walk through to get to the beauty section. I also chose two items that would add a little sizzle to the dead of winter.

The moisturizer is a great value (especially now that it's on sale). It works well as both a moisturizer and a gradual self-tanner. It goes on easily and evenly and absorbs very quickly. I have extremely pale skin; and I got a nice gradual bit of color that looked golden (not orange).

Add to my new "tan" a pretty lipgloss. "Lover" is a shimmery brown/beige that gives a nice tawny glamorous shine. It has pretty good staying power without being gooey or sticky, and it also keeps lips soft and pretty.

It's always worth paying a visit to the VS website. Ditto for the actual stores. And right now their Semi annual sale is going on. They don't carry bras in my size, but I swear they have the best measurers anywhere. I go in there to shop for gifts, and I usually make sure to get measured when I'm there. I may treat myself to a little visit this weekend. This week has been a long one, and a little extra girliness might be just the thing.

More Random Weekend Stuff: Victoria’s Secret Events

Okay this isn’t exactly “weekend.” More like "stuff that I didn’t get around to during the week." But take a look at some of the festivities leading up to the Victoria’s Secret show coming up! Weeee!

On Thursday morning 30 Victoria’s Secret supermodels, including Victoria’s Secret Angels Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, and PINK’s Behati Prinsoloo, took over Times Square to celebrate the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airing on CBS Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 10 PM.

Victoria’s Secret Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, and Marisa Miller shared their tips for selecting the perfect gift for the one you love and their favorite gifts, including top beauty picks for the holidays.

1. Marisa Miller’s favorites:

Open Casting Events And Online Public Voting Will Determine The Next Runway Angel To Appear In The Show.

Victoria’s Secret will open its legendary runway to the public as it holds open casting events to find the next Runway Angel to join Supermodels Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Marisa Miller and many others as they walk in THE VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW, to be broadcast Tuesday, Dec. 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Casting events will be held in New York City, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago beginning Saturday, Oct. 3. Contestants can also enter online at VSAllAccess.com and CBS.com from Thursday, October 1 through Saturday, October 24. A Victoria’s Secret panel of experts will narrow the field to 10 finalists and will then hand over the selection to the public, who will have the opportunity to cast their vote to choose the winner in an innovative online video and voting process.

Ten finalists will be flown to New York City where the Victoria’s Secret Angels will host “Angel Boot Camp,” a series of challenges that will give the contestants the chance to prove to the world that they have what it takes to be the next Runway Angel. Contestants will need to show their photogenic qualities, prove their abilities as a spokesmodel, show off their red carpet star quality and radiate charisma while walking a runway in lingerie.

Beginning Wednesday, October 14, VSAllAccess.com and CBS.com will air weekly webisodes featuring footage from the live castings and Angel Boot Camp. The public will be able to vote on which contestants will advance to the next round of voting and will ultimately choose the winner, who will get the chance of a lifetime to walk in THE VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW, which has launched the careers of modeling legends including Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bündchen, and is broadcast annually on CBS and around the world in more than 90 countries.
